Hey Tumblr,
Our friend is in a bit of trouble and we’re hoping you generous people might be able to help her out.
Bess has run into some unexpected car trouble. The last mechanic her family took her car to ultimately made the engine worse, and now it is going to cost a minimum of $1,200 [USD] to repair the damage.
Her family doesn’t have the funds for the repairs right now and Bess is understandable upset. We decided to make her a YouCaring account in the hopes that anyone with a few dollars to spare might pitch in and help make things easier for our dear friend.
The link above will take you to the fundraising page we’ve set up for her. If you have questions you can contact Milli, Mery, or myself.
Any donations would be more than appreciated, but even just a signal-boost reblog would be helpful.
Bess is a really good friend of mine both online and irl. Anything you can do to help her out will be very much appreciated. I’m listed as a supporter on the donation page (I’m Milli), so hopefully that helps to ease anyone’s worries as to whether this is legit.
My dear followers, if you don’t mind, have a gander at the link and donate if you’re able. Bess is a fabu nifty person and deserves any help she can get.
Thanks, m’friends.

Well I’m the Bess in question here, so I’m going to pipe up and ask my followers for help, too. Here’s what happened.
I took my car in today to get my oil changed and replace the tire, possibly have the guys at Pep Boys check out my A/C and see what was wrong with it since it was spitting out hot air at me instead of cold. They performed all the tests, and discovered a much larger problem than we were expecting. In August of 2011, I had to get my engine replaced because I blew it on the day I moved earlier in the year, and it was a rebuilt Jasper engine that was replaced by a local place that was recommended to me by a man in my church.
It was replaced and that was that. Or so I thought. Went in today for simple stuff like I said, and they gave me some rather devastating news. When my engine blew, oil had gotten everywhere, and apparently the shop that replaced my engine didn’t flush all of the systems they were supposed to. Because of this, there is oil in my radiator which basically turned my antifreeze into water which can make my car overheat and end up blowing my engine all over again.
To make matters even worse, the oil that ended up where it shouldn’t when I blew the engine has been where it landed for the whole time. There was so much sludge on my radiator cap that it looked like something out of a horror movie from the 50s. That doesn’t get there from what amounts to a brand new engine in less than two years. My engine is leaking oil all over the place in a way it really, really shouldn’t be.
So Pep Boys said that we need to replace the radiator, the hoses, the heat pump and the water pump. Those parts plus the labor come out to about $1100. That’s not including what needs to be done to fix my A/C, which did end up having a leak in it.
After we left Pep Boys, we called up the place that replaced my engine and told them what was going on. They said to leave the car and they’ll take a look at it, possibly replace the engine all over again. I still have the engine under warranty, so the parts and labor are covered, but the labor is covered only up to $55 an hour. This place charges $90 an hour for labor for a job like this. The rest of it we’ll have to pay out of pocket, and I won’t get my car back for another two weeks if they have to replace it again.
All in all, today ended up being way more draining than I ever expected, and it was made less fun because I’m the only way my dad can get to work. So now on top of taking my dad to work, I have to take my mom to work as well since we’re down to one car for however long that takes.
Any and all help you guys can provide, even if it’s just to signal boost this, I’d be unbelievably grateful. Now I’m going to go hide and hopefully shut my brain off for a while. Thanks again for anything you guys can do.

Bess is a really close friend of mine, she’s helped me when I’ve been in tight spots and it’s the least I can do to try and help her. Even if you don’t donate, please just reblog this. Please.
